Most of the dots will literally be over the town's name on the map because they're looking at the geocode of the town, not of a tower. It's just showing towns (with some towns showing up more than once, possibly because many geo data sets duplicate some towns due to often archaic naming differences for sub-regions of a town). The one you linked to is not showing towers. Ookla's 5G map on the app shows where they've seen coverage. When I checked the locations with Maps, none of the locations showed the towers, but then the towers could be newer than latest Gmaps.ĭoes anyone know more about the Ookla map, in particular regarding new TMO 5G service?īTW, none of the tower locations were on Cellmapper either.Ĭellmapper is pretty bad for 5G.
